Dr. Alex Schmotter
Dr. Schmotter has been a part of our office since before he could walk! The son of Dr. Richard Schmotter, Alex knew from a young age that he wanted to be a dentist. Many of our patients met Dr. Alex when he worked as a chairside assistant for his father during the summer college. Others have met him for the first time when he joined the office as a dentist in 2015.
Dr. Alex grew up in Marin County and is a graduate of Redwood High school. He went on to study Human Biology at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he was awarded All-American honors for Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse. During his time at Cal Poly, Alex spent a semester abroad living in Costa Rica, and also became interested in entrepreneurship. In his final year of undergraduate study, Alex founded what is now Phenoh Inc., in an effort to solve the dental and health problems caused by acidic bottled beverages (feel free to try some from the fridge!).
Alex continued to build the company while attending dental school at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Alex Graduated from dental school in 2015 and has been practicing with us ever since. When Alex is not in this office, he is actively leading the Phenoh team to continue to problem solve and disrupt the beverage industry by bringing a tooth healthy alternative to sports drinks.
